- Bakehouse run by St Sidwell’s charity (who run the community centre and cafe in the former church over the road) and partly staffed by volunteers. Specialises in sourdough and slow-fermentation breads and treats using stoneground organic flours.
- They provide opportunities to volunteer and learn bakery related skills.

- A project of St Sidwell’s Charity (who also run the St Sidwell’s community cafe) which started out with grant funding from Power to Change (powertochange.org.uk) in July 2019 by converting an office at the community centre into a micro-bakery, to train volunteers in baking. This was followed by a crowdfunding campaign in 2020 which raised over £10k to renovate the old Halfords on Sidwell Street to make it a suitable location for the current bakehouse. The Halfords name is still on the tiles left the entrance.
- Has raised a total of £137,000 for the project itself, including over £10,000 from the crowdfunding initiative, and £19,826 funding from Exeter City Council’s Strategic fund.
- Bread is also avaiable from St Sidwell’s Community Centre across the road, the Exeter Farmers’ Market on Thursdays, and some local cafes and restaurants.
- Home delivery by bicyle available within a 2 mile radius of the bakehouse. Minimum 1 loaf per week and 1 month subsription. Bread, donuts, pizza dough, flatbreads, and more are available.
